Tenant Guide

What is Ejari โ€” and Why You Need It

Ejari is the mandatory tenancy registration system in Dubai, managed by RERA. Every rental contract must be registered before you can access government services.

How Ejari Works

Step 01

Sign Your Tenancy Contract

Your landlord or property agent prepares the Unified Tenancy Contract (UTC). Both parties sign before registration.

Step 02

Submit for Registration

The contract is submitted via the Ejari portal or a typing centre. Required documents: signed UTC, Emirates ID (both parties), Title Deed copy.

Step 03

Receive Your Ejari Certificate

A unique Ejari number is issued within 3 working days. You need this to apply for a DEWA connection, get a UAE visa, or register your vehicle.
